BGMI custom room: how to join, room ID and password

What a BGMI custom room is, how to join one with a room ID and password, and how to avoid fake custom room scams in WhatsApp groups.

Almost every BGMI tournament and scrim is played in a custom room: a private match that the organiser creates and players join with a room ID and password. Here is how custom rooms work and how to join one safely.

What is a BGMI custom room?

A custom room is a private BGMI match set up by a host. The host chooses the map, mode and settings, and only players with the room ID and password can join. Tournaments use custom rooms so every team plays the same match under the same rules.

How to join a BGMI custom room

  • Get the room ID and password from the tournament organiser, usually shortly before match time.
  • In BGMI, open the custom room section from the mode selection screen.
  • Search for the room ID, enter the password and join your team's assigned slot.
  • Wait in the lobby until the host starts the match.

Menus can change between game updates, so if you can't find the option, check the latest BGMI update notes.

Avoid fake custom room scams

Public WhatsApp and Telegram groups that sell or share "custom room" entries are a common source of scams: fake rooms, entry fees that never return and prizes that never get paid. Only pay entry fees to organisers you trust, keep screenshots of your registration and results, and never share your BGMI login details with anyone.

Custom rooms on Hash

On the Hash app, BGMI tournaments show the entry fee or free entry, prize pool, slots and rules before you register. The room ID and password appear on the tournament page before match time, so your whole squad sees the same details, and results and the points table update in the app after each match.
