Mumbai Surfer: a free runner game on Mumbai's Western Line

Mumbai Surfer is a free endless runner set on Mumbai's Western Line, from Churchgate to Dahanu Road. Play it in your browser or on Android.

Mumbai Surfer is a new free game from Hash For Gamers: a fast, colourful endless runner set on Mumbai's suburban railway. You play as Dabba Dada, racing down the tracks station by station with the ticket inspector shouting right behind you.

The real Western Line

The game follows the Western Line from Churchgate to Dahanu Road across 11 chapters, with all 37 stations in order. You run past Wankhede Stadium, Marine Drive, the Mahalaxmi racecourse and Dhobi Ghat, Dharavi and the Mahim mangroves, the salt pans of Bhayandar and the chikoo orchards of Dahanu, and cross the Mithi River, Vasai Creek and the Vaitarna on real bridge sections.

How to play

Swipe, or use the arrow keys in the browser: left and right to switch tracks, up to jump and down to roll. Dodge oncoming local trains, maintenance trolleys and closed-off junctions, jump barriers, roll under signboards and run along the roofs of the trains.

  • Collect cutting-chai coins, magnets, umbrellas, 2X coins and rocket sandals
  • Unlock runners with their own abilities and buy colourful outfits
  • Take on daily challenges, missions and star ratings for every chapter

Pure Mumbai

Monsoon rain, golden evenings, Diwali lights and Ganpati celebrations change the mood along the route, with station announcements, chai sellers, crowded platforms and station boards in Marathi, Hindi and English.

Where to play

You can play Mumbai Surfer free in your browser on the Hash website, or download it free from Google Play on Android. An iOS version is on the way.
